watching the eclipse

Wow! By a lucky coincidence club members took advantage of the fine weather, high tide and eclipse to “sink” our beloved wooden gig Weston Spirit. This is necessary as she has spent most of the summer in a hot dry shipping container and consequently dried out and sprang a few leaks. The sinking enables some of the dry wood to swell out and hopefully fix the leaks. Weston Spirit is now on the moorings at Uphill whilst Eventide (our fibreglass gig) is in the shipping container where our bosuns are giving her some TLC
